DESCRIPTION

The Cynon Valley Cottage and Bunkhouse, ‘The Centre’, is situated on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in an area of outstanding natural beauty, rich in historic and industrial heritage. The area is dominated by the hump-backed mountains of the Brecon Beacons and is close to the world famous waterfalls of the Neath, Mellte and Hepste rivers.

The recently refurbished, well equipped and comfortable Centre is a typical Welsh cottage and barn converted into bunkhouse accommodation

The accommodation consists of three bedrooms, sleeping eight, four and one, and a dormitory that sleeps sixteen; a lounge, with wood burning stove, four showers, toilets and hand basins, and a drying room.

The warden lives locally and prepares the Centre for incoming groups, deals with any minor problems and checks the premises after groups leave.

The Centre is fully alarmed for security.

The Centre is suitable for all types of groups, from the structured school party busy with field studies, the ‘action packed’ activity group keen to develop their interests in outdoor pursuits and the more leisurely holiday party who wish to relax and enjoy the tourist attractions the area has to offer.

Hirers have sole occupancy.

HEATING / COOKING FACILITIES

The accommodation is centrally heated and double glazed throughout.

The cottage lounge has a wood burning stove and adjacent multi-purpose room with sink, microwave and ‘fridge.

The commercial kitchen is equipped with a six burner gas cooker, refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, toaster and a full range of catering equipment and eating utensils.
The adjacent dining room can seat 30.
