DESCRIPTIONSituated in the Brecon Beacons National Park and originally a small welsh hill farm, the Cadarn bunkhouse is surrounded by its own land with fabulous views of the Black Mountains and the Wye Valley.
Easy access to the mountains for walking, mountain biking and of course, horse riding. The river at Glasbury is an ideal spot for kayaking and canoeing.
Cadarn enjoys a quiet peaceful location, perfect for just chilling out and yet is only half a mile away from the village of Felindre with its friendly local pub, which serves good pub food.
The accommodation has 7 rooms on the first floors, sleeping between 4 and 8.
There are 3 bathroom/shower areas on the ground floor.
Additionally, there are 3 rooms on the ground floor each sleeping 3. This block has its own bathroom/shower room, a small kitchen area and a lounge area.
The Dining room has picnic style tables with bench seating and has a wealth of stonewalls and exposed beams. There is a games room with a pool table.
All rooms are centrally heated
COOKING FACILITIES
The kitchen is well equipped, with a six-burner cooker, grill, microwave, fridge, freezer, double sinks and a dishwashing machine.
Catering can be arranged, B&B, dinner B&B or full board

Sleeping bag, towels and food if self-catering.
Pillows and bottom sheets are supplied
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Unfortunately, we are not well served with public transport links.
Nearest railway stations are Abergavenny and Hereford, both about 25 miles.
From Abergavenny, best option is taxi.
From Hereford, there is the option of catching the bus towards Brecon, Stagecoach No 39. Get off at Three Cocks (Old Barn Inn stop) and exercise your legs!
There are also National Express coaches to Hereford or Brecon.
For small groups, we can pick up from Hay-on-Wye and the bus/railway stations by prior arrangement
BY CAR
Easy access. Plenty of parking space. Last half-mile, not suitable for full size coaches. Coach parking available at Tregoyd Farm.
Approx 3 hours from London (Heathrow), 2 hours from Birmingham. 1 hour from Cardiff.
If using Sat-Nav, enter Wales as country, use postcode LD3 0TB to get to bunkhouse. When you get to the village of Felindre, turn by Three Horse Shoes pub, go past ‘Tara B&B’ (last house in village), and go straight on up the hill, and take the first turn left, after about half-mile. Go down gravel drive to bunkhouse
OTHER LOCAL ATTRACTIONS/ACTIVITIES
Hay-on-Wye. Pretty border town, famous for its second-hand bookshops and world-renowned literary festival. Good cafes and pubs/ restaurants. Small supermarket.
Brecon. Small market town, host to an excellent jazz festival, nearest cinema, good theatre and nearest leisure centre. Farmers market and larger supermarket
We are well situated for a variety of outdoor activities; some of the best horse riding country in Britain is on our doorstep. We can cater for riders and novices, and have a choice of rides from an hour to a full day ride with a stop at a pub for lunch. We are licensed by Powys County Council, approved by the British Horse Society, the Wales Trekking and Riding Association, the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority and Visit Wales.
Walkers, you can walk straight out on to the open commons and mountains from the bunkhouse over a private track.
Excellent mountain biking area, wide range of trails/routes from easy on-road routes, using quiet lanes, to full day, over the mountains rides. Bike hire can be arranged locally and delivered to the bunkhouse for you.
Water sports. The River Wye is easily accessible for kayaking and canoeing, with several canoe hire operators in the area.
